Join The Conversation!
Promise Week III was held November 7-15, 2008.
Thanks to everyone involved for a very successful week!
An important goal of Promise Week
was to engage people in the Greater Kalamazoo area in
conversations that help define our community's future.
To date, 1,117 Kalamazoo students have gone to college on the Promise, and it is clear that its impact is extending to all reaches of the community. In a year that has seen economic woes across the country, the Kalamazoo Promise has helped our community continue to grow. New jobs continue to come to Kalamazoo, home sales are beginning to rise, and enrollment in Kalamazoo Public Schools is up. The Promise is inspiring students, parents, and businesses alike.
Throughout the week, community leaders discussed and acknowledged successes in education, business attraction, national recognition, and college enrollment. Promise Week affirmed that The Promise of a Greater Kalamazoo is an asset to the entire Kalamazoo area community.

Join The Celebration!
Schools, service clubs and other organizations are creating
opportunities to celebrate the value of education thoughout the community, the importance of supporting youth (and
those who teach them) and quality of life.
Join The Cause!
The Greater Kalamazoo area is an education-rich community that offers children and
adults alike wonderful opportunities. But, we continue to face challenges to work together to create
opportunities for everyone and to help everyone reach his or her full potential. In all likelihood,
you're already engaged in one or more of the thousands of community activities which make this a good
place to live, work and play.
If so, help us tell our story in a way that helps attract opportunity-minded citizens to our region. We have a post-card program
coming soon.
Want to do more? Want to further the causes of student support, educational excellence, community
vitality and economic development? Let us know!
